Find a Doctor Near You

Everyone’s had this moment: you find a great doctor — a real hidden gem — and then the question hits: do they take my insurance? Search below, find the gem, then text me the name. I’ll personally check whether they’re in your plan’s network — free.

Search the Directory

Pick a specialty, enter your ZIP, and I’ll pull real providers from the federal directory:

Showing providers in the ZIP you enter — try a nearby ZIP to widen the search.

Directory info comes from the federal NPI Registry — public data on registered U.S. providers. It can tell you who’s out there, but it can’t tell you who’s in your network. Only your carrier can confirm in-network status — and that’s exactly what I’m here for: text me any name and I’ll check it for you, free.

Found One You Like? I’ll Check Your Plan.

Text me the doctor’s name and I’ll personally confirm whether they’re in your plan’s network. No charge, no obligation — it’s what I do.

How This Works

  1. Search above — real providers near you, pulled live from the federal NPI Registry.
  2. Text me the name of any doctor or clinic that looks like a fit.
  3. I check your plan’s network — personally, for free — and tell you straight whether they take your insurance.

No tool on the internet can reliably check in-network status across every carrier and plan — anyone who claims theirs can is guessing. I check it the real way: against your actual plan.

What “In Network” Actually Means

Your carrier contracts with specific doctors, clinics, and hospitals — that’s the network. In-network care follows your plan’s copays and counts toward your deductible. Out-of-network care can cost far more, and on many plans isn’t covered at all outside of emergencies. The same doctor can be in network for one of a carrier’s plans and out of network for another — the plan name matters, not just the carrier.

The 3-Step Network Check

  • Step 1 — Search the carrier’s directory. Use the provider search inside your member portal, with your exact plan name selected. A carrier’s name alone is not enough; the plan matters.
  • Step 2 — Call the office and ask the right question. Don’t ask “Do you take my insurance?” Ask: “Do you participate in [your exact plan name] with [carrier]?” Those are different questions with different answers.
  • Step 3 — Confirm again at booking and check-in. Networks change mid-year. A quick “still participating?” at check-in takes ten seconds.

Out-of-Network Traps to Know

  • Directories go stale. Doctors retire, move, and leave networks; lists lag behind reality. Step 2 is your safety net.
  • The hospital can be in while the doctor is out. Anesthesiologists, radiologists, and ER physicians at an in-network hospital may bill separately. In a scheduled procedure, ask who else will bill you.
  • “We accept your insurance” is not “in network.” Accepting can just mean they’ll file the claim and bill you the difference.
  • Referrals don’t move networks. If your doctor refers you to a specialist, verify that specialist before the appointment.

If Your Doctor Is Out of Network

You have options: ask me whether another plan in your area includes them, see if the practice participates under a different plan the carrier offers, or choose a new in-network doctor before you’re sick and rushed. During Open Enrollment or a Special Enrollment Period, that’s often a clean fix. The wrong move is finding out at the pharmacy counter or the ER desk.
