Open Enrollment 2027
November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027. Here’s how to be ready on day one.
Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027 in all sixteen states I’m licensed in — Florida, Texas, Arizona, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Virginia. Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. The people who get the best outcomes aren’t the ones who shop on January 14th — they’re the ones who were ready on November 1st.

The 2027 Deadlines That Decide Your Start Date
Your coverage start date depends on when you enroll. These are the federal Marketplace dates (Florida, Texas, Arizona, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee all use HealthCare.gov):
| Date | What happens | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| November 1, 2026 | Open Enrollment opens | First day to enroll in, renew, or change 2027 Marketplace coverage. |
| December 15, 2026 | Last day to enroll for a January 1 start | Enroll or change plans by this date for coverage starting January 1, 2027 (pay your first premium to start coverage). |
| January 15, 2027 | Open Enrollment closes | Last day to enroll or change plans for 2027. Plans picked December 16–January 15 start February 1, 2027. After January 15, you generally need a qualifying life event. |

Key Dates
- November 1, 2026 — Open Enrollment opens. You can preview, compare, and enroll.
- December 15, 2026 — enroll by this date for coverage starting January 1, 2027.
- January 15, 2027 — Open Enrollment ends. After this, you need a qualifying life event to enroll.
Why Not Wait Until December
Every year the same thing happens: the Marketplace website slows to a crawl in mid-December, brokers’ calendars fill up, and people enroll in whatever plan was fastest instead of whatever plan was best. Your doctors, your prescriptions, and your income estimate all deserve more than a rushed evening. Get on my early-contact list and we’ll do it right, early.
What to Have Ready
- Your income estimate for 2027 — this drives your tax credits. Self-employed? Bring your best honest estimate; we’ll sanity-check it together.
- Your doctors and prescriptions — names and dosages, so I can check networks and drug coverage before you enroll.
- Your current plan info — if you have coverage now, I’ll compare staying vs. switching.
- Household details — who needs coverage and their dates of birth.
My Stack on Every Call
When we talk, I don’t just quote the health plan. My standard stack is an ACA Marketplace plan plus supplemental protection from Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare): AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max. One call, full picture.
