Health Insurance in Parkland, Florida
Equestrian estates, top schools, and executive commuters.
Parkland is Broward’s executive suburb — equestrian properties, top-ranked schools, and families who commute to Boca or Fort Lauderdale. Most Parkland households buying individual coverage are business owners, executives between roles, or a spouse leaving a corporate job. Those are high-stakes transitions, and I make sure coverage never lapses in the handoff.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.
Who I Help in Parkland
Most of my Parkland clients fall into a few groups:
- Executive families — Households between corporate roles.
- Business owners — Parkland-based owners and partners.
- Commuting professionals — Boca and Fort Lauderdale corridor households.
- Early-retiree couples — Equestrian-community retirees-in-waiting.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Parkland families use Broward Health and Boca-area hospitals in both directions. I check networks across Broward and south Palm Beach before choosing.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll — the same combination I walk through on every call in every state I serve. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
