Health Insurance in Boca Raton, Florida
Corporate parks, country clubs, and executives who buy their own coverage.
Boca Raton runs on corporate headquarters, finance and tech professionals, and country-club retirees — a city where a lot of households earn too much for big subsidies but still need smart, network-strong coverage. Around Mizner Park and the Town Center corridor, the questions I hear are about keeping Boca Raton Regional and Baptist Health doctors in network, not just finding any plan. Florida’s federal Marketplace rewards careful income and network planning here.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.
Who I Help in Boca Raton
Most of my Boca Raton clients fall into a few groups:
- Early retirees — Country-club and executive households covering the gap years without overpaying.|Self-employed professionals|Financial advisors, consultants, and firm owners around Mizner Park and Broken Sound.|Corporate leavers|Executives between roles weighing COBRA against Marketplace options.|Seasonal residents|Snowbirds splitting time between Boca and the Northeast who need networks that make sense.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Boca’s anchor hospitals — Boca Raton Regional Hospital and West Boca Medical Center — sit in different networks depending on the carrier, so the cheapest-looking plan can quietly cut off your specialists. I map your doctors first, then price the plans that keep them.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll — the same combination I walk through on every call in every state I serve. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
