Health Insurance in Naples, Florida
The Gulf’s prestige coast — golf communities, retirees, and working professionals who need coverage done right.
Naples pairs one of Florida’s highest costs of living with one of its biggest retirement populations — golf-course communities, seasonal residents, and the service professionals who keep Collier County running. The people I help in Naples usually fall into two camps: early-retiree residents bridging expensive gap years, and self-employed professionals whose income makes tax credits a careful math problem. Florida’s federal Marketplace handles both — if you quote it right.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period.
Who I Help in Naples
Most of my Naples clients fall into a few groups:
- Early retirees — bridging 60 to 65 in one of Florida’s priciest markets without burning savings.
- Self-employed professionals — consultants, realtors, and business owners managing income for tax-credit accuracy.
- Seasonal residents — snowbirds splitting time between Naples and a home state, needing to understand which ZIP controls their plan.
- Healthcare and service staff — the NCH and private-care workforce, plus hospitality professionals, many without employer coverage.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Naples is anchored by NCH Healthcare System, and seasonal residency makes domicile and network questions trickier than usual — your Marketplace plan follows the address you enroll with. I walk through exactly where you live, where your doctors are, and which network keeps you covered in both places.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll — the same combination I walk through on every call in every state I serve. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
