Not in Broward? Every Florida county has a state-funded managing entity for substance abuse services. Call 211 and ask for the low-cost or sliding-scale treatment options in your county — they exist everywhere in the state.

What About Medicaid in Florida?

Here's the plain truth: Florida has not expanded Medicaid the way most states have. You may qualify if you're pregnant, have children and very low income, have a disability, or are a senior. Most adults without children don't qualify. You can check at myflfamilies.com or call 1-866-762-2237.

If Medicaid isn't an option for you, a Marketplace health plan may be — and those plans are required to cover drug and alcohol treatment as an essential health benefit. Open enrollment starts November 1. That's exactly what I help people with — keep reading.

A Note From Me

I'm Christopher Horne, a licensed health insurance broker — and I put this page together because cost shouldn't keep anyone from getting help. These programs don't require insurance, and you don't have to be my client to use them. If you want help figuring out the insurance side, I'm here. You don't have to do this alone.
