Florida Blood Drives: Give Blood With OneBlood
Donor centers and Big Red Bus drives across Florida
Florida hospitals count on local donors every single day. OneBlood is the main blood provider for most of the state — here’s how to find a drive near you and what you get for giving.
This page is community-first, on purpose. Giving blood is one of the simplest ways to save a life — one donation can help up to three patients — and it comes with a free mini health check for you. Below is OneBlood’s drive finder, a Broward County donor center right in my backyard, and the kinds of thank-you gifts OneBlood has offered donors lately.
Find a Blood Drive Near You
OneBlood’s donor portal lets you search drives and donor centers by ZIP code and book an appointment in a couple of minutes:

What Donors Get: The Wellness Checkup
Every OneBlood donation includes a free mini health check — blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and iron check — which OneBlood calls your Wellness Checkup. Your results post to your donor portal so you can keep an eye on your numbers over time. It’s not a replacement for seeing your doctor, but it’s a real snapshot of your health, free, every time you give.
Thank-You Gifts OneBlood Has Offered Lately
OneBlood thanks donors with rotating promotions. Examples from September–October 2026 have included:
- Four free Fandango movie tickets (about $12.50 each — a $50 value) at select drives
- A $40 Epic Theatres gift card promotion
- A Halloween t-shirt plus your Wellness Checkup
- SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream ticket promotions
These are examples from recent promotions — offers change by drive and date, and no gift is guaranteed. Check what’s live before you go:
Can I Donate in Florida? The Basics
- Age: 16 and up (parental consent at 16).
- Bring: a photo ID.
- Time: about an hour total; the donation itself takes roughly 10 minutes.
- How often: whole blood can generally be given every 56 days.
Eat a good meal and drink water before you go — it makes the whole thing easier. OneBlood’s team screens everyone privately at check-in, so if you’re unsure about medication or travel history, just ask them there.
And If That Checkup Ever Flags Something…
Most donors walk out with great numbers and a free t-shirt. But if your blood pressure or iron ever comes back off, the next step is a doctor — and that’s where coverage matters. I help Floridians sort out health insurance in plain English, at no fee (the insurance company pays me). If you ever want a second set of eyes on your options, I’m right here in Broward.
