Ohio Blood Drives: Give Blood With Versiti
Community and hospital drives across Ohio, with a live drive schedule
Versiti Blood Center of Ohio keeps hospitals stocked across the state through community drives that roll into new towns every week. One donation can help save up to three lives — and every donor starts with a free mini health check.
Community first, as always on this site: Ohio runs on local donors. Versiti’s mobile drives set up at hospitals, schools, churches, and businesses all over the state, and their schedule is live and searchable — here’s how to find the drive closest to you.

Ohio is also home to the Hoxworth Blood Center in Cincinnati and the Community Blood Center in Dayton — both long-standing regional centers worth checking if you’re in southwest Ohio.
What Donors Get: A Free Mini Health Check
Every donation begins with a free mini health check — blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and iron check — before you donate. You leave knowing your numbers, and your results are available through the donor portal afterward. It’s not a substitute for a checkup with your own doctor, but it’s a useful snapshot — and sometimes the first nudge that gets someone to schedule one.
Thank-You Gifts for Donors
Versiti and Ohio’s other centers run rotating donor thank-you promotions — recent examples at blood centers like these have included gift cards, t-shirts, and seasonal giveaways for people who give. These are examples from recent promotions — offers change by center, drive, and date, and no gift is guaranteed. Check Versiti’s schedule page for what’s running with the drive you book.
Can I Donate in Ohio? The Basics
- Age: most centers accept donors at 16 with parental consent, and 17+ on your own.
- Bring: a photo ID.
- Time: about an hour total; the donation itself takes roughly 10 minutes.
- How often: whole blood can generally be given every 56 days.
Eat a real meal, drink water before your appointment, and bring any medication questions to the private screening at check-in — the team answers them every day.
Coverage Questions While You’re Here?
That free mini checkup is a great first look at your health. If it ever suggests something a doctor should follow up on, having coverage in place first makes all the difference. I help Ohioans compare health plans in plain English — no fee for my help, since the insurance company pays me. Call or text any time.
