Find Sober Living in Ohio

Certified recovery residences across Ohio, through the state’s recovery housing network

Free. No sign-up. No fees - ever.

Availability changes daily - always call to confirm

Sober living beds open and fill fast, and no website (including this one) can promise you a room. Use the Ohio Recovery Housing resources below to find homes near you, then call the home directly and ask: "Do you have a bed open, and what do I need to do to get it?" If calling feels like too much right now, text me and I will help you work through it.

I’m Christopher Horne, a licensed health insurance broker. I keep this page because "search the internet and hope" is a terrible answer at the worst moment of someone’s life. For Ohio, the right place to look is the network run by the state’s own recovery-housing organization - so that is what this page points you to, along with the state support line that answers around the clock.

How to read this page: Ohio’s recovery residences are certified through Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH), Ohio’s affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). ORH explains the levels of recovery housing and maintains residence-locator resources for finding homes across the state; Ohio homes must also be registered with the state. This page is information only - it is not an endorsement, and I do not place people or guarantee admission to any home.

Want help making the calls? That part is free too.

Text RECOVERY to 954-787-9118 and I’ll send you these links and help you figure out which homes fit - men’s, women’s, your part of Ohio - and I can sit on a three-way call with you while you talk to them. You don’t have to be my client. You don’t have to buy anything. This page exists to be used.

Before you call: questions worth asking

  • Do you have a bed open today - and if not, is there a waitlist?
  • What does it cost to move in, and what is due each week? (Prices change; get today’s number from the home, not a website.)
  • What are the house rules - meetings, curfew, drug testing, guests?
  • Are medications for addiction treatment (like Suboxone or methadone) allowed? Homes differ - ask directly.
  • What happens if someone relapses? Get the answer in writing if you can.
  • Can I see the agreement before I pay anything? Keep copies of everything you sign.

How insurance fits in

One short, honest note: under the Affordable Care Act, health plans cover substance-use treatment - detox, inpatient and outpatient programs, counseling, and medications - as an essential health benefit. If you live in Ohio and want help checking what a plan would cover for treatment, that’s my day job and there’s no charge to ask. Text 954-787-9118 or see health insurance in Ohio. The housing help on this page is free either way - it is never a condition of anything.
