Health Insurance in Lake Mary, Florida
Corporate corridor families and top-rated schools.
Lake Mary is Seminole County’s corporate corridor — Heathrow country clubs, tech and finance offices along International Parkway, and families who moved for the schools. When a Lake Mary household buys its own coverage, it is usually a job change, a consulting practice, or a spouse’s startup. Those transitions are exactly when Marketplace timing and income estimates matter most.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.

- Realtors and lenders — Seminole County real-estate pros with 1099 income.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Orlando Health Lake Mary and AdventHealth facilities serve the area, with specialists across Seminole and north Orlando. I line up your family’s doctors across that map first.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll — the same combination I walk through on every call in every state I serve. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
