Health Insurance in Coconut Creek, Florida
Home base in Broward — master-planned, family-first, and full of self-employed pros.
Coconut Creek is where I live and work — the Butterfly Capital corridor around Promenade and Lyons Road runs on small-business owners, trades, realtors, and families who buy their own coverage and want a local broker who actually answers.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.
Who I Help in Coconut Creek
Most of my Coconut Creek clients fall into a few groups:
- Small-business owners — Shop and office owners around Promenade at Coconut Creek and the Lyons Road corridor.
- Self-employed & 1099 — Realtors, trades, and consultants with variable income that needs careful Marketplace planning.
- Families in transition — Households between jobs, aging off a parent plan, or moving off COBRA.
- Early retirees — Early retirees in Wynmoor and surrounding communities covering the gap years.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Coconut Creek households split care between Broward Health Coral Springs, Northwest Medical Center in Margate, and Boca Raton Regional to the north — carrier networks treat those systems differently, so I map your doctors first, then price the plans that keep them.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
