Health Insurance in Cleveland, Ohio

Home to world-class hospitals — your plan should include the ones you’d actually use.

Cleveland has genuinely world-class health systems, and your insurance should give you real access to them. Ohio uses the federal Marketplace, and across Cuyahoga County the difference between plans often comes down to which hospital systems are in network — that matters more here than in most cities.

How the Marketplace Works in Ohio

Ohio uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period.

Who I Help in Cleveland

Most of my Cleveland clients fall into a few groups:

  • People who want Cleveland Clinic / University Hospitals access — making sure top systems are actually in network, not just nearby.
  • Manufacturing and trades workers — folks between union jobs or working non-union shops without benefits.
  • Early retirees — covering the gap years in the years when good coverage matters most.
  • Small business owners — shops and contractors across the east and west sides.

A Local Note on Choosing Well

In Cleveland, I start every comparison with your hospital system — if you want the Clinic or UH, we filter plans by that first, then compare costs. Premium-first shopping is how people end up with a cheap plan that doesn’t cover the doctors they trust.

Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone

The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.

As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
