Health Insurance in Weston, Florida
Master-planned Broward living — executives, physicians, and relocating families.
Weston is one of Broward's highest-income master-planned communities — Weston Hills and The Ridges households often earn past subsidy sweet spots and care most about network strength and predictable costs.
How the Marketplace Works in Florida
Florida uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so there is a coverage gap below 100% of the poverty level — but tax credits are available at 100% and above, which is where I do most of my quoting. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.
Who I Help in Weston
Most of my Weston clients fall into a few groups:
- Executives & physicians — High-earning households who need PPO-style thinking inside a Marketplace shop.
- Relocating families — New Florida residents triggering a Special Enrollment Period with a move.
- Self-employed owners — Business owners with income that swings year to year.
- Early retirees — Couples bridging the gap years before 65.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Cleveland Clinic Weston is the anchor for many Weston families, with Broward Health and Memorial systems nearby — I confirm your specialists are in-network before we talk premiums.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
