Health Insurance in Findlay, Ohio
Flag City USA — Marathon Petroleum, manufacturing, and Hancock County hub.
Findlay is Hancock County's hub — Marathon Petroleum's headquarters, manufacturing, and Blanchard Valley healthcare serving northwest Ohio.
How the Marketplace Works in Ohio
Ohio uses the federal Marketplace at HealthCare.gov. During Open Enrollment (November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027) you can shop, compare, and enroll — enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Depending on income, federal tax credits can lower your premium and cost-sharing reductions can lower what you pay for care on Silver plans. Ohio has expanded Medicaid to 138% of the poverty level, so many lower-income households start there, with Marketplace credits above that line. Outside Open Enrollment, a qualifying life event — losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — triggers a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days.
Who I Help in Findlay
Most of my Findlay clients fall into a few groups:
- Energy professionals — Marathon-corridor households buying individual coverage.
- Manufacturing workers — Plant and supplier crews across Hancock County.
- Healthcare workers — Blanchard Valley corridor staff.
- Regional families — Households from McComb to Fostoria.
A Local Note on Choosing Well
Blanchard Valley Hospital anchors Findlay care — Flag City families sometimes use Toledo or Columbus for specialty care, which I factor in.
Why Work With a Broker Instead of Going It Alone
The Marketplace website will show you plans, but it won’t tell you which doctors are actually easy to see, which plans have surprised people with bills, or how a plan change next year affects the prescriptions you take. That’s what I do.
As a licensed broker, I help you compare plans side by side — networks, drug coverage, deductibles, and real total cost — in plain English. There’s no fee for my help; I’m paid by the insurance company. Many of my clients also stack supplemental coverage on top of their major medical: Golden Rule (UnitedHealthcare) AccidentWise, HospitalWise, and DentalWise Max dental coverage — benefit amounts and limits vary by the policy you choose, and we review the actual schedule together before you enroll. And I don’t disappear after enrollment: when you get a confusing bill or need to change plans, you call me directly at 954-787-9118.
