One checklist decides whether you can enroll today or prep for November 1.
First: Don't Panic. Second: Check This List
Missing open enrollment only locks you out if nothing else applies to you. Run through these — if any one is true, you likely have a Special Enrollment Period right now:
- Lost job-based coverage in the last 60 days (or losing it soon)
- Turned 26 and aged off a parent's plan
- Got married in the last 60 days
- Had a baby, adopted, or took foster placement
- Moved somewhere with different available plans
- Divorced and lost coverage
- Had income changes that shifted your Medicaid/Marketplace lane
If None of Those Apply
Then open enrollment is your next door — November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027 for 2027 coverage. Two things to do right now:
